The Miniature Australian Shepherd was started as a breed in 1968 from a group of small select Australian Shepherds.  The Size and conformation was achieved over 10 years of breeding, crossing the smallest standard sized Australian Shepherds.  Scarce themselves, smaller Aussies were sought out and used in this breeding program.

In 1981, the original breeding began with a standard bitch by the name of Valhalla’s Cookie.  Cookie was bred to Cordova’s Spike, the first registered Miniature Australian Shepherd.  This was the beginning of “VALHALLA KENNELS.”

The first registered Miniature Australian Shepherd with the National Stock Dog Registry was “Cordova’s Spike” produce puppies with medium bone, proportional to height at maturity.

Through the years my upper most goal has been trying to enlarge the gene pool by infusing standard dogs.  Raising Quality Dogs has always been my focus!

You will find that “VALHALLA” bred dogs are the foundation
for many of the top show kennels in the country!
